Our current education project is called the "Civil Rights County Project." Through the William Winter Institute for Racial Reconciliation, the County Project will provide Civil Rights information on each county in the state of Mississippi. The Civil Rights movement took place in a well documented era of turmoil and inequality. Despite the overwhelming amount of research done on the Civil Rights era, many events have gone undocumented in our very own state. The goal of the “Civil Rights County Project” is to research the counties of Mississippi in order to make an attempt at preserving some of this historical information. If you feel that you might want to help us with this project please contact us and we will set you up with a particular county to research.
Another education project of ours is a Civil Rights play. The play is written by and will feature Ole Miss students. If you are interested in helping us out with the play contact us or email Ron McDaniel at remcdani@olemiss.edu.
